The day that changed my entire life.

October 9th, 2024 will forever be the day that changed my life. It was the day I went in for my double mastectomy. I came out of the hospital 4 days later barely alive, vulnerable and exhausted. I am so grateful to my tribe of friends and family who were there for me. Even in times I tried to shut them out. I survived and I had to understand the person I went in that day died. I am like a phoenix rising from the ashes or those rocks in the ocean that start off rough but become polished and redefined from the waves hitting them. As I write this I celebrate all of my wins. All of the things I learned and the things I can talk about and teach others who are going on this journey. Even if you do not have cancer there are many other traumas that effect us. Understand YOU are amazing for continuing to just show up. I chose to embrace my recovery by putting me first. I started film photography again several of the pictures on here are mine. I made more memories with my family and friends. I tried new things each month. Come along with me on my new journey.

Sometimes life can be Rocky but never fear it smooths itself out eventually.
